Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta celebrates Champions League win against Atletico Madrid

Arsenal were confirmed as Premier League champions on Tuesday night, and Mikel Arteta’s first words in reaction to their triumph have now emerged.

Arsenal did their bit on Monday night, securing a 1-0 victory over Burnley thanks to a Kai Havertz header from a corner.

Pep Guardiola’s side failed to take it to the final day, with Arsenal having a four-point gap heading into the last game of the season.

Arsenal’s players and staff were pictured together as they watched the Man City game at the training ground, and footage emerged of them celebrating their Premier League title triumph.

In a video released on Arsenal’s social media channels, Arteta gave a message as part of a celebration video, confirming how proud he was of the players.

“We made history again, together. I cannot be happier, prouder for everybody that is involved in this football club. Let’s enjoy the moment.”

It’s an incredible achievement for Arteta, winning his first-ever Premier League title and ending Arsenal’s 22-year drought without lifting the trophy.

It’s a huge shame for the staff and players that they were unable to secure the title during a game of their own, but they will have an opportunity to celebrate as they face Crystal Palace this weekend.

It wasn’t just the players and staff who were celebrating. Supporters were seen filling the streets of North London following their title victory, with the celebrations likely to go on into the night.

Arsenal Players Let Loose With Celebrations

As mentioned, the Arsenal players and staff were watching the Manchester City game together, and their reaction to becoming Premier League champions was recorded.

Although the players may not have been able to experience their triumph after a game, there were still incredible scenes as the staff and playing squad enjoyed the moment together.

None of them will care about how they’ve done it, and all that matters is that they finally secured a Premier League title after 22 years.

Arsene Wenger’s First Words Since Arsenal’s Title Win

The last manager to win a Premier League title before Arteta? None other than Arsene Wenger.

The Frenchman, who guided the Gunners to their famous invincible season, was also involved in Arsenal’s video celebrating their title.

Wenger had a 20-word message, urging them to enjoy every single moment after winning the Premier League.

“You did it. Champions go on when others stop. This is your time. Now, go on and enjoy every moment.”

It was a special touch for Arsenal to get Wenger involved in the video, and their supporters will be hoping Arteta can go on to make a similar impact to their former manager going forward.

With the first title out of the way, it will be a huge relief for the Arsenal boss, and time for him to go again next season.
