GAINESVILLE — Florida point guard Walter Clayton Jr. made basketball history at a school that’s produced two national championships, All-NBA stars and top-10 draft picks.

 

The Associated Press tabbed Clayton first-team All-American, the first player to receive the honor for the Florida Gators.

 

“He’s been the best guard in America this year,” coach Todd Golden said Tuesday, moments after AP announced the team.
