Florida football QB DJ Lagway makes six-figure NIL donation to support women’s athletics

Florida football quarterback DJ Lagway continues to prove that leadership extends beyond the gridiron. The Gators’ signal-caller made headlines over the weekend with a six-figure donation to Florida Victorious, the NIL collective supporting the University of Florida student-athletes.

 

The contribution, made in honor of International Women’s Day, will directly benefit the gymnastics, women’s basketball, softball and volleyball programs in Gainesville.

 

Lagway announced his donation in a video via social media, emphasizing his appreciation for the dedication and hard work of female student-athletes at Florida.

Lagway’s financial commitment is the latest example of his evolving leadership role within the Florida football program. Entering his second season with the Gators, he is expected to take on greater responsibilities both on and off the field.

 

With Lagway already making an impact off the field, the focus now shifts to whether he can guide the Gators to success on it. After throwing for 1,915 yards and leading the Gators to a 6-1 record as a starter during his freshman season, he now looks to improve and learn from his first year as a Gator in hopes to t
