Detroit Lions superfan, Paul Jan Gorzelewski (@polka.boy_lions), a 25-year season ticket holder, has had his tickets revoked by the club Read More……
He had 8 tickets in the corner endzone (row 16), which he would sell in order to upgrade to front row seats. Paul is a lifelong Lions fan from Sterling Heights and is now a resident of Philadelphia. Attending games in Detroit, as well as traveling on the road to most away games, has come at a major cost. He spent $55,000 in 2024 in order to attend most of the teams’ games. This includes tickets, flights, hotel rooms, food/drink, and merchandise. By selling the tickets, he was able to offset some of the costs associated with going to as many games as possible.
He recognizes that by selling the majority of his season tickets that he is in violation of ticket policies. However, he has been doing it for years when the team wasn’t very good, and the club was begging for people to purchase tickets.
NFL teams are starting to scrutinize season ticket holders more closely, as the teams look to maximize profits and try to minimize the number of tickets that get put on the secondary market.
We aren’t sure if there is a perfect way to navigate this, but certainly not allowing for a conversation before revoking tickets is not the way to go.
